Winter Ptarmigan

With lots of snow lying on the gound outside today it was a good day to paint a winter scene. These two members of the Grouse family look pretty chilly sitting in the deep snow. This is a challenge of a white on white painting but it was fun. The Ptamigan turn white in the winter and have "snowshoe" looking feathers on their legs so they are well equipped for the winter.
